Braves 6, Pirates 2
The Pittsburgh Pirates fell to the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night by a score of 6-2. The Braves got the scoring started in the bottom of the 2nd when Emilio Bonifacio singled to right, scoring Chris Johnson and BJ Upton. The Braves added 2 more in the 3rd when a single by pitcher Julio Teheran scored Johnson and Christian Bethancourt. The Bravos would put the game away in the 5th on a 2 run dinger by Justin Upton, his 28th. The Pirates would get 2 runs back in the next half inning when Andrew McCutchen's 25th homerun of the season made it 6-2, but it would prove to be meaningless. Julio Teheran picked up the win to improve to 14-13, while Jeff Locke picked up the loss to fall to 7-6. Craig Kimbrel picked up his 45th save. The Pirates are still 1.5 GB of the Cards in the NL Central.
