NFL Week 14 Preview/Predictions

I did not mean to pick the Raves. Completely disregard that. What was I thinking? Credit to Bradley William Stewart for the graphc.

*We all picked the Bears, not the Vikings*
Hello, all. It's NFL preview time again. I am happy to report that I, Joseph Arthur Smeltzer, am beginning to distance myself from the pack once again, as I have a four-game lead on Ryan Carlton Stewart. At least four of us are undefeated this week, as we do not know who David Rutz picked in the Thursday Night tilt between Arizona and Minnesota. Let's get into it.

1:00
The ''Who the hell cares''? Game of the week
Lions (4-8) at Rams (4-8)

Joe: Wow. Well, the Lions have been playing good football as of late, while the Rams are not. So I'll take Detriot by something. I don't care, and neither should you.

Can the Panthers stay undefeated?
Falcons (6-6) at Panthers (12-0)

Joe: Yes. Atlanta has been arguably the biggest dissappointment of the season, as they have fallen off of a cliff since starting 5-0. I have no reason to think that Matty Ice will put a stop to Cam Newton's dominance.

Panthers 34, Falcons 20

Player to Watch: Josh Norman (at least one INT)

The Rex Grossman Bowl
Redskins (5-7) at Bears (5-7)

Joe: The most intriguing thing about this game is that Rex Grossman, who, according to Rutz, is one of the greatest QB's ever to live, played for both of these teams. The Redskins are still in the hunt in the NFC East, but what does that say? The Bears are better than people think they are, and could have a winning record if one or two things had gone their way. Jay Cutler will be slinging it today.

Bears 34, Redskins 24

Player to Watch: Jay Cutler (or DeSean Jackson, for all the wrong reasons)

The Battle of the Birds
Seahawks (7-5) at Ravens (4-8)
Joe: The Seahawks have been the much better breed of bird this season, and are playing their best football right now. I have a weird feeling Matt Schaub won't be able to pull off an upset today. However, Baltimore's kicker, Justin Tucker, can sing the hell out of Ave Maria.

Seahawks 35, Ravens 14

Player to Watch: Thomas Rowles

Steelers fans will not like this result
Titans (3-9) at Jets (7-5)

Joe: The Steelers need some help to get into the playoffs, and I don't think they'll get it today. The Jets are currently tied with the Steelers at 7-5, but New York holds the tiebreaker because they have a better record against the AFC. The Titans are not a good football team, and the Jets are. Therefore, Steelers fans like myself should not expect any help coming from the Meadowlands today.

Jets 30, Titans 17

Player to Watch: Chirs Ivory

Which Eagles will we see today?
Bills (6-6) at Eagles (5-7)

Joe: The Philadephia Eagles can either be very good or very bad. Last week in New England, they were excellent. But what will we see this week at Lincoln Financial Field? Well, since they are at home and playing the Buffalo Bills, who are almost equally inconsistent, I like Philly's chances. Fletcher Cox is one of the best defensive linemen in the NFL, and I expect him to sack Tyrod Taylor twice today.

Eagles 28, Bills 14

Player to Watch: Fletcher Cox

This could have easily been the ''who the hell cares''? Game of the week.
49ers (4-8) at Browns (2-10)

Joe: The Browns are due, dammit!

Browns 24, 49ers 20

Player to Watch: Travis Benjamin

The Present vs. The Future
Saints (4-8) at Buccaneers (6-6)

Joe: Drew Brees is one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history while Jameis Winston is a big part of the NFL's future. With all due respect to all Brees has done, I think the kid will get the job done today. Winston has a young and hungry team around him, and it's hard to bet against the red hot Bucs, especially when playing at home. I expect Jameis to get the best of Drew for the second time this season, with a little help from big Mike Evans.

Bucs 34, Saints 24

Player to Watch: Mike Evans

The Steelers are playing
Steelers (7-5) at Bengals (10-2)

Joe: Ohhhhhhhh. Tough one to pick here. I know Big Ben has a great record at Paul Brown Stadium, and I know the Steelers defense can provide pressure on Andy Dalton, but....... the Bengals are on fire. It is a tossup, but I think that Cincy's offense will still be too strong for the Steelers inconsistent D to handle. I hope I am wrong, and very well could be, but that's just what I think.

Bengals 30, Steelers 21

Player to Watch: AJ Green

The Old Bull vs. The Young Calf
Colts (6-6) at Jaguars (4-8)

Joe: The Colts were undressed by my Steelers last week, and I think they fall again today. The Jags are a young team that can be exciting to watch, and I think that the combination of Blake Bortles and Allen Robinson will pick apart Indy today. Matt Hasselbeck is old.

Jags 34, Colts 25

Player to Watch: Blake Bortles

The Steelers won't get any help here either
Chargers  (3-9) at Chiefs (7-5)

Joe: Pittsburgh's two biggest threats in the wildcard race are facing teams with 3-9 records while the Steelers themselves are facing a team with a 10-2 record. Cruel.

Chiefs 35, Chargers 21

Player to Watch: Charcandrick West

4:05
Do you smell what the Brock is cooking?
Raiders (5-7) at Broncos (10-2)

Joe: I love Derek Carr, but I love the Broncos defense just as much. Denver is the better team, and I have a hunch that Ronnie Hillman will go off and have 90+ yards rushing.

Denver 31, Oakland 17

Player to Watch: Ronnie Hillman

Dez Bryant is still bitter
Cowboys (4-8) at Packers (8-4)

4:25
Joe: Dez Bryant is still bitter about the catch that wasn't when these two teams met in the playoffs last year, and no matter what Skip Bayless says, the Cowboys still stink in spite of their Mondy Night win in Washington. Rodgers uber allies.

Packers 35, Cowboys 14

Player to Watch: Aaron Rodgers

Sunday Night
Will the Patriot bounce back?

Joe: New England losing three in a row? Yeah.... I don't think so pal.

Patriots 27, Texans 14

Player to Watch: Who else?

Monday Night
This game is meaningful to 50% of the teams involved
Giants (5-7) at Dolphins (5-7)

Joe: Both of these teams have identical records, but the NFC East is so week that the Giants are still very much in the hunt. Eli Manning will finally get himself together, and the Dolphins have nothing to play for right now.

Giants 34, Dolphins 23

Player to Watch: Eli Manning
