Koji Uehara came in in the top of the 9th in a non save situation, and got the first 2 men out, then struck out Matt Carpenter, and with that, Fenway erupted as for the first time in the lives of anybody in that stadium, the Red Sox won it all in front of their hometown fans. David Ortiz, as expected, was named World Series MVP after his phenomenal series, as he has earned a reputation as one of the best postseason hitters ever.
